Just some pictures of retro trucks and equipment from Volvo…

Case Construction Equipment today broke ground for a new Product Review Center at the Case Customer Center in Tomahawk. The city’s mayor, Bob Lee, was on hand, along with Jim Hasler, vice president of Case; Jim VanStrydonk, representing the general contractor; and Gerry Kole, manager of the Case facility. The four started excavation for the footings with three golden shovels and a Case CX210B excavator. Construction is scheduled to continue through the summer, with completion slated for November.

Which concrete co. (that was subcontracted by Walton Construction) had their equipment stolen in New Orleans a while ago, and were they the same co. that was hired to build the Superdome?

Volvo Construction Equipment Europe – Undercarriage parts

I recently graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in Computer information systems. However, I have decided that the office corporate world just isn’t for me. Being confined in a building all day sounds like a miserable way to live.

Ever since I was little, I have loved construction equipment. I was never a girly girl, I loved my Tonka trucks and matchbox cars. I choose jeans and a sweatshirt over dressy clothes anyday. Even today, I still love driving by construction sites. I think it would actually be a fun job to either drive a dump truck all over the state (small state, NH) or to work in the dirt with an excavator, bull dozer, and any other heavy equipment!

I was wondering how one goes about entering this career path? Should I go get my CDL? How do you get training on these machines?

Here is a classic film clip about boys pretending to be drills and tractors. I recorded this in 1986. I remember watching this when I was about three of four years old. I think it was filmed in 1969. Originally, I wasn’t going to include it because it is featured on the “Sesame Street: Old school vol. 1″ DVD. I changed my mind because some people don’t have the DVD. Hopefully, people will go out and buy it after watching this clip. Old School SS fans like me remember the “I’m broken” part!
